Thank you for participating in SORMA West 2012all 562 of you, the largest SORMA attendance yet! We hope to see you in Michigan in 2014 for the next meeting in the SORMA series.
Update 2 July: The extended deadline for the refereed Proceedings is past, and the submission website has been closed, although you may still submit manuscripts to be considered for standard non-conference issues of IEEE Transactions on Nuclear Science.
We welcome you to the Oakland Marriott City Center for the IEEE 2012 Symposium on Radiation Measurements and Applications, May 14-17, 2012. SORMA West 2012, the second West Coast meeting in the SORMA series, is organized by Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory and the University of California, Berkeley.
Plan your days by finding the most exciting things in your field! Options include
- PDF Program-at-a-Glance file for a quick look at the Symposium structure.
The graphic above is a daily excerpt from it.
- Printable Program ver. 8.2 of 14 May with sessions, titles, and authors.
Version 8 begins with the Program-at-a-Glance mentioned above, and ends with a key to
poster numbering. (Minor changes vs. v8 and 8.1.)
- The live read-only window onto the program database, which lets you drill down to individual abstracts.
As you can see from the program, the areas for SORMA West 2012, as with the 2008 Berkeley and 2010 Michigan programs, encompass the full breadth of ionizing radiation measurement applications and technologies, with both oral and poster presentations.
Authors who present at SORMA are encouraged to follow up with a contribution to the Proceedings, which we anticipate will be published together in the refereed journal IEEE Transactions on Nuclear Science. Papers will be eight pages long in the standard IEEE journal format. The deadline is expected to be the end of the Symposium. Finally, the New York Times has named Oakland to its Places to Visit in 2012, so read all about it! The "SORMA Social Events" and "Things to Do On Your Own" links in the menu at left will give you more information about Oakland and the Bay Area.
