- Don’t Miss the Conference Dinner! Join us for an unforgettable evening of networking with peers and pioneers Wednesday evening at the exclusive UC Berkeley Stadium Club. This is one of our most anticipated events, and with limited spots available, we expect it to fill up quickly. Be sure to add your dinner ticket when you register to secure your spot!
The Stadium Club is an 0.5 m (850 m) walk with 144 feet (44 m) of elevation gain from the SORMA venue. Just let us know if you will need mobility accommodations. - Join us for the Women in STEM Lunch! Tuesday, July 22 brings this welcoming and engaging event designed to foster connection, reflection, and dialogue. The free session will feature a guest speaker who will lead a guided group discussion on navigating careers in STEM, building support networks, and sharing experiences across career stages.
- Attention Young Professionals! Join our special lunch session Wednesday, July 23, “Navigating the Publishing Process: Insights from Scientific Editors.” Tailored to early career researchers, it offers a practical look into the editorial side of scientific publishing. Editors will share advice on peer review, authorship, ethical challenges, and effective manuscript preparation. It’s free, but attendance is limited to 35, first come, first served. The session will conclude with an open Q&A and informal discussion. Don’t miss out—add this session when you register!

*Attendees who choose the Student category need to provide proof of student eligibility by emailing official proof of student status, such as a copy of a student status certificate or college ID card, to SORMAreg@ieee.org, our IEEE conference registrar, or the full registration fee will be charged. Postdoctoral researchers (“postdocs”) do NOT qualify for the reduced Student registration rates.
All fees are in US dollars. The early registration deadline is 5 p.m. Eastern daylight time (GMT-4) on Saturday, 21 June.
Do You Need a Visa Letter?
When you register, there will be a box you can check if you need an official letter from us as part of your visa application. If you check this box, the system will e-mail an official visa letter upon paid registration. These letters do not imply financial support or invitation by SORMA.
An e-mail indicating that your talk or poster has been accepted for the program can also be helpful to your visa application. Only submitting and presenting authors get an acceptance e-mail.
Cybersecurity Awareness
- SORMA West 2025 accepts financial information only through our secure registration site, cvent.com, at the link above. We never ask that you supply or confirm such information by e-mail.
- We do not use Docusign, which is a legitimate service but has been misused to lend plausibility to conference-related scams.
