Guidelines for Presenters

Thank you, everyone, for your contributions to our technical program. Here are tips for oral and poster presentations.

All presenters must be registered attendees.

Please submit and present only materials that are cleared for release — no classified (even at the "sensitive" or "for official use only" levels) or corporate-confidential materials.

Instructions for oral presentations

  • All slide decks must be in Windows-compatible PowerPoint or PDF format.
  • All presentations must be in English.
  • Each contributed oral presentation is allocated 18 minutes total (15 minutes of presentation time plus 3 minutes for Q&A). As a courtesy to others in our tightly scheduled sessions, please prepare your presentation accordingly and adhere strictly to this time limit. (These time limits refer to regular contributed orals. Invited plenary speakers will be given special instructions individually.)
  • Each session room will be set up with a projector, a microphone, a laser pointer, and a presentation computer. To avoid the delays that arise from technical difficulties, presentation from your personal laptop will not be allowed.
  • Please be in the session room 10 minutes prior to the start of the session and introduce yourself to the session chairs.

Uploading Slides for Oral Presentations

Presentations must be uploaded at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled presentation time. Details of upload procedures will be provided soon.

Instructions for poster presentations

  • Posters must be in portrait orientation and fit comfortably on a 1.2 m wide x 1.8 m tall poster board. For reference, an A0 poster is 84.1 cm x 118.9 cm.
  • Adhesive tape/pins to attach your poster to the board will be provided in the poster room.
  • Poster boards will be labeled with the poster number.
  • Please hang your poster on the day of the session, ideally by 1 pm.

Please note that onsite poster printing will not be available. We recommend that you print your poster before travel and bring it in a tube. Just in case, we will have a list of local businesses offsite that can print a poster.

One of the authors, or a colleague who is registered for the conference and who can speak knowledgeably about the material, must be physically near the poster throughout the session (with reasonable breaks, of course). Posters that are put up and left unattended, with no one nearby to answer questions, are much less valuable to other attendees and are strongly discouraged.
