Home Office (UK)
The United Kingdom Home Office, Office for Security and Counter Terrorism (OSCT) has a robust and active collaboration with the United States Domestic Nuclear Detection Office in an effort to coordinate US and UK efforts to further national capabilities in countering the threat of radiological and nuclear terrorism. Under the guidance of CONTEST, The United Kingdom’s Strategy for Countering Terrorism, OSCT has the policy lead in preventing terrorists from obtaining and using radiological and nuclear substances, including sponsoring research and development activities to drive development of new technologies to aid responders in this mission. This talk will focus on UK Home Office policy for enhancing UK national level capability to detect illicit movement of radiological and nuclear material at the border and within the interior.
