Click here to go directly to the secure registration site, https://www.npss-confs.org/SORMA/registration
The preferred means of registration is online. If you prefer to register by mail, here is a downloadable hardcopy registration form, including instructions, in Portable Document Format. If you have any questions, contact the Registration Chair at sorma12@ieee.org.
If you have already registered for the Symposium and now wish to add a social function, please use the hardcopy registration form. Check the appropriate events and fax the form to the number shown at the bottom of it, with a note stating that you are already registered. Then, send e-mail to the Registration Chair at sorma12@ieee.org to let us know that you are doing this. (For security reasons, do not send credit-card numbers by e-mail.) Due to the short notice, we will accept payment for added social events in the form of a check at the registration desk, or you can use any of the forms of payment stated on the hardcopy registration form.

Student Registration
Attendees who choose the Student category need to provide proof of student eligibility by emailing a copy of a student status certificate or ID card to sorma12@ieee.org by May 10 AND by bringing the original student status certificate or ID card to the registration desk in Oakland. If official proof of student status is not provided, the participant will be required to pay the full non-student registration fee to attend the conference. Additionally, postdoctoral fellows ("postdocs") do NOT qualify for the reduced Student registration rates.Possible Fee Waiver for Students Traveling Internationally (Added 31 March) SORMA West 2012 cannot offer direct financial assistance. However, we may offer special consideration such as registration-fee waiver if you meet all three of these criteria:
- You are a presenting author accepted for SORMA West 2012; and
- You are a student (undergraduate through doctoral candidatenot a postdoctoral fellow) at a non US institution; and
- You send us e-mail stating that traveling internationally to SORMA without this consideration would be a financial hardship.
Life Member Registration
Life Members must contact the Registration Chair at sorma12@ieee.org to obtain complimentary registration. They pay the same fee as a member registered for the conference for any social-program events such as tours, banquet, etc., that they wish to attend.New Member Registration
Explore the benefits of IEEE and NPSS membership and save!An IEEE NPSS membership desk will be located close to the Registration Desk. Staff will be available to answer questions concerning the benefits of membership. By joining during the conference, non-members will receive a $50 deduction from new IEEE NPSS membership, plus one year's free membership in the Nuclear and Plasma Sciences Society.
Students joining at the conference will receive a year's free membership if they provide a statement from their mentor that they are full-time students. It is more advantageous for students to join prior to coming to the conference, in order to qualify for the reduced student registration rate.
New memberships obtained on-site will not qualify you for discounted registration at this conference. To qualify for the reduced member-only rates you must become a member prior to registering and prior to the start of the conference (and provide proof of your membership).
SNP 2012: A One-Day Topical Workshop After SORMA on the 18th
A one-day workshop on Scintillator Nonproportionality Physics (see the menu at left) is being organized separately. It will occur all day Friday the 18th. This free workshop is by invitation only, but there is a link for applying to be invited. It is limited in space and thus the number of attendees, so if you are interested in this topic, don't delay.Questions?
